What are BOTOX and Dysport Cosmetic?

How does it Work?
Injections of BOTOX and Dysport block muscular nerve signals, which weaken facial muscles so they don’t contract. The weakening of the muscle then leads to a reduction in wrinkles.
In order for muscles to contract, nerves release a chemical messenger, acetylcholine (a neurotransmitter), at the junction where the nerve endings meet muscle cells. The acetylcholine attaches to receptors on the muscle cells and causes the muscle cells to contract or shorten. Injected botulinum toxin prevents the release of acetylcholine, preventing contraction of the muscle cells.

How is the procedure performed?
For BOTOX and Dysport to work, a very thin needle with the chemical has to be injected directly into the muscular area that affects wrinkling. By doing so, the chemical weakens the wrinkle producing chemical while maintaining the natural shape of your face.
The injections generally take less than 15 minutes, but timing may vary by the amount of facial regions needing injection.
It takes 24-72 hours for botulinum toxin to take effect, which reflects the time needed for the toxin to disrupt the synaptosomal process. In very rare circumstances, it may take as long as 5 days for the full effect of botulinum toxin to be observed. the botox normally last for a three to four month period and then the effects will begin to face. A new procedure can be administered to ensure satisfaction once more.
